I’m afraid I won’t be accepted to UCF or Burnett Honors College because I don’t play sports and I’m not involved in fine arts. I’m in NHS and do a lot of volunteer work but that’s it.

If you have good grades, do they overlook a lack of extracurricular activities? (Like, say, a 2150 SAT and a 30 ACT, and a 4.0 uw gpa/4.3 w gpa.)

Thanks.

Also, is the Gold Pegasus Award based only on academics?

I’m not sure if you’re still looking for an answer to this, but I’m bored, so I’ll respond. :]

The Gold Pegasus Award is based on academics, I’m pretty sure, since a friend got with minimal school involvement and a high GPA along with almost perfect SAT scores.

For Burnett Honors, due to the fact that it’s an academic college, your grades matter the most. Extracurricular involvement is generally for the borderline candidates since it is another focus with the student had other than their schoolwork. For example, a slip in grades could have been caused by a crazy soccer season or something.

Here’s the stats for this year’s incoming Honors students:

Average SAT: 1374
Average ACT: 31
Weighted High School GPA: 4.2
