How much emphasis to adcoms put on improvement?

<p>People have told me that adcoms prefer upward trends to As throughout. Is that true??</p>

<p>well obviously adcoms like to see students who have excelled since the 9th grade, but it’s also a plus to see someone improving. Will they take someone who went from a 3.3 freshman year to a 4.0 junior year over someone who’s had a 4.0 since freshman year? it is very likely that they won’t. Still, upward trend is better than downward or no trend.</p>
