Even though every case is different… how much need-based aid should I expect to receive from UMich? (and how much of it would be through loans)

State: out of state
Household income: ~$20,000 / year, no major assets
Family: single mom, me, + 1 younger sister
SAT: 2100 - 2200 range
GPA: 3.6 / 4.1

Any broad range would be helpful to know, based on what UMich usually does. Thanks!

I agree with Ren. around 20-25k of grants, 15-20k of loans, and 5k workstudy. You’ll probably end up with a load of loans going to michigan. Apply to a lot of scholarships though… with your situation you can probably get some.

flyingllama, you should still apply to Michigan, as none of us work in the Financial Aid department at Michigan and you never know what you’re going to get until they give it to you. Also you can appeal fin. aid decisions if I remember correctly.
