I plan on going to a community college then transferring to a transfer school (SUNY Upstate Medical University). I want to know is it too much to go to community college full-time science major, do work-study and play varsity tennis?

Thank You

Absolutely not. A good college experience includes all the things you have listed and more. Having a good social life, making great friends, volunteering, internships, and sometimes 2 or more sports. However, I should say, as I am sure you already know - the course ratings from a community college compared to that of a four year college is not always the same. Universities, especially the more selective ones, usually consider courses from community colleges less rigorous, even when that is not the case in all community colleges. In perspective, I have also seen people that have transferred from Community colleges to great Universities including Ivy’s- so anything is possible. At the end of the day, the goal is “FIT & BALANCE”. That’s all that should matter at the end.
Best of luck to you.
