How much is too much?

<p>How many retakes is practical to still be competitive at an elite university? I took the old SAT once, and the new SAT once, and am planning on retaking the new SAT once. Is that too much?</p>

<p>IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TOO MUCH. I did psats in grades 9,10,11 and did the new sat in March, and am still unsatisfied with my score.</p>

<p>Lots of people will take the New SAT 3 times and schools aren’t going to even blink an eye. Don’t sweat it, and take the test as many times as you need to.</p>

<p>try not to take it more than 4 times. Try practice tests instead</p>

<p>yeah, 4 times is pretty much the maximum amount without looking like a test whore. Space out your retakes, and make sure you don’t forget about SAT IIs either.</p>
