How much it cost for 2 years in cuny bmcc

Hi! I’m applying to CUNY BMCC for fall 2013 in business.
I really wanna know how much the average TOTAL tuition fees, housing, living cost, etc for 2 years. (I’m not an NY resident, btw…)
Please let me now ASAP!
Thx anyway :)

You can look here [Office of the Bursar - Tuition](http://www.bmcc.cuny.edu/bursar/page.jsp?pid=1001&n=Tuition%20&%20Fees%20Per%20Semester) for tuition info. You can look on the site what is available for housing, if anything is. I have no idea if BMCC provides any housing, many CCs do not, and if they have placement office to help with it. You will have to peruse the website which you should be doing if you have plans to go there. Take notes, and put together questions, and then call the school when you have specific questions.

It looks like tuition varies, depending on how many credits you take and other factors, so you have to guess what you will be taking.

There is no housing at the CUNY community college. Op will need to have someplace to live (family members, friends or paying rent, which will be more that the cost to attend)

While you may still be able to apply for CUNY, since you are applying after the Feb 1 deadline, they will not guarantee you a seat (which they would if you apply by Feb 1)

Why would you want to spend extra money going to an OOS CC? That seems like a waste of money. What are your parents saying about paying for this? What state are you in?

c. Out-of-State Residents $ 280.00 per credit

Since students generally take 30-33 credits each year in order to graduate on time, the OOS tuition is going to be about $8500+ per year. Then you’d have to add about $15k for room, board, books, fees, misc costs.

So, you’d have to budget about $23k per year for each year…about $50k for two years. Sounds like too much for a CC. What are your parents saying about paying?

my parents are fine w/ the tuition, but probably not w/ the other fees… oops!

You need to do your research. At those schools that provide housing, and have an enclosed residential campus, separate from the town or outside areas, it may not be so important to know how things work, but you are thinking about a school in MANHATTAN, NYC. You need to know EXACTLY how things work. They may well have some housing referral office and all kinds of resources to help out those going there, but you have to make the effort to get the info, and know it well. It’s not a smart idea going into NYC without having a plan and purpose. Getting housing is a big deal thing in NY.
