How much money can you make for FASFA

Can I have a AGI of over $100,000 and still receive an unsubsidized loan?

I believe you misworded your question, although I’m not sure what information you are looking for. Also, your heading suggests that you don’t understand the FA process - no money is “made” based on FAFSA. This form is simply used to determine eligibilty for federal aid (primarily Pell Grants and loans).

In response to your actual question: yes, anyone can receive an unsubsidized loan, even Warren Buffet.

You might want to start by reading this stickied thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1486647-financial-aid-faqs.html

Assuming you meet the basic eligibility criteria for federal financial aid - [Basic Eligibility Criteria | Federal Student Aid](http://studentaid.ed.gov/eligibility/basic-criteria) - then, yes, you will be able to get an unsubsidised loan. Income or assets are not considered.

By completing the FAFSA, any student can take an unsubsidized loan. It might not appear in your financial aid package, if including it would make your award exceed the the cost of attending your university.

But I believe you can request it anyway…someone else will clarify if I am wrong!

The only exception to the above advice would be the small number of schools that for various reasons do not participate in the federal student aid program at all. Their websites probably make that quite clear.

As long as you have some unfunded part of your COA, you can take up to a $5500 unsub loan.

We don’t know what your EFC is or the COA at your school though…you might qualify for some sub loan.
