If I get in at all … with a 3.6 weighted, 3.2 unweighted, 1340/1980 SAT with the hardest courseload possible, good recs, and ec’s?

and this is with a family income of over 120k

My guess is that you would not qualify for BU’s merit scholarships nor for much need based aid.

You aren’t going to get money from many places. Some schools, like Clark, give grants automatically based on gpa.

Over 120K? not much. Better set aside 50K of that, which does leave you 70K

allright thanks for the input guys, I was strongly considering going to BU to major in business if I got accepted, but in this case I dont think going to BU is going to be worth it, compared to going to a decent public univerisity for about half the cost.

Even though BU might not offer you merit aid, there are many colleges out there where you would receive decent merit aid. Do a google search 1340+SAT+scholarships and read there.

If you really like the school, at least apply. You never know.

It never hurts to apply but I agree chances are nil for financial need based aid anywhere unless there are unusual circumstances. You are a little too low for a merit scholarship at BU but if you can raise your GPA and SAT scores in Oct. you may get the 10 K one. What state are you from? There are many quality state schools.

You would probably get better merit aid at Northeastern with your scores if you want to be in Boston.
