We went to an information session at Lafayette and they basically said once you pay tuition your really done…a lot of the school trips are free…a lot of subsidized events that dont cost anything. I was wondering if the same thing holds true for Lehigh.

Based on my daughter’s first year experience, she has not had many additional expenses. Her biggest expense beyond tuition has been books which will be the same at Lafayette. If your child decides to join a fraternity or sorority, the dues and miscellaneous expenses that go along with membership can be high.

One reason we selected Lehigh over Lafayette was the fact that Lehigh offered a travel opportunity during the month of January for almost no cost through the Global Citizenship program. My daughter paid $500.00 and travel to Ghana, where Lehigh paid for all the other costs. Now that’s a deal! The Global Citizenship program has its own application and I believe only accepted students can apply. I encourage you to read about it on Lehigh’s website. Lafayette did not offer a similar program. Also, my daughter is not Greek, and therefore we do not pay and costs associated with Greek life. My daughter is part of the 60% who are not Greek at Lehigh, and doing well.
