how much of a college education can you pay for by working during school?

my parents are on the low end of the pay spectrum and looking at private schools that cost 50 grand + a year is scary. without getting a huge scholarship, how much of educations like this can a student really expect to pay for by working while they go to school? I’ve heard of kids being waiters while going to schools like nyu but can’t imagine how that pays for much of the tuition there. I’d also like to hear from anyone who does this, and what kind of impact it has on their college life, if they have time for studying and other things, etc. thanks for any feedback!

I know that some Pharmacy students can make 30-40k a year depending on if they work full or close to full time as pharmacy technicians.

^yeah, it really depends on what you’re doing. If you’re a waiter/waitress, sandwich maker at Subway, you’re gonna make a lot less than somebody working in a pharmacy, or a really good paid internship.

I think you could get better advice if you told us what your major is:)
