How much of an obstacle are my poor high school grades?

Hello all!

I am a 2nd year California CC student applying for transfer in the fall. I’ve done fairly well at my community college, but due to a major chronic illness and short time in high school (I graduated via CHSPE at the age of 15), my HS GPA is low. I’d like to see if there is ANY chance at all of being accepted at a top university in spite of my tumultuous high school experience.

My CC GPA is 3.8,and I am on track to complete the IGETC pattern with 3 associates degrees, including major prep in my field (sociocultural anthropology).

I am a 5-star Phi Theta Kappa officer (responsible for a number of major academic and community service projects), an officer and staff writer for the college newspaper, a member of the Honors Enrichment Program, a member of the Psychology and Creative Writing clubs, a Supplemental Instruction leader, and the creator and primary organizer of our school’s thrice-a-semester Open Mic Night.

Over the summer I’ll also be trained to work as a tutor in the school’s writing center, and have the opportunity to work in a psychology lab at CSUSB.

I haven’t taken the SAT yet, but I plan to in June.

Am I likely to be a competitive applicant… well, anywhere? My dream schools are of the fairly standard shoot-for-the-stars variety (UC Berkeley, UCLA, Stanford, Harvard), but I’m more realistically looking at lower-tier universities. How serious of a disadvantage is my poor high school performance at this point?
