How much practice do you usually do?

Hey everyone. I’m just wondering how much practice you guys do for the ACT. I personally do 1 practice section a night (like, one reading section or one math) and either 2 sections friday/saturday or one full on test on saturday. That’s my 1 month cram plan! I don’t know if that’s enough, though. It somewhat worked before…

How about you guys?

^It depends. I did a whole bunch of practice in the summer (like a section a day) and I ended up getting a 32.

Then, for the next test, I listened to Moonlight Sonata for like 2 hours the day before and I ended up getting a 34 with just doing a reading and science section the night before.

I plan to do the same for the December one, hoping to get a 35/36, which I have gotten on practice tests.

For me it’s not really a matter of how much practice I do but how well I am able to concentrate on the test date since i know that I am definitely capable of that score it is just a matter of whether I get it or not.

Best of luck to you then! I’ve never thought of it that way, though…34 is my dream score!
Maybe I shoud listen to moonlight sonata for 2 hours as well. Does that type of music help? o_o

^Yup, it did for me.

Well, it was at least better than what I used to listen to right before the ACT: Party in the USA (lol).

I listened to technical death metal preceding my 32 and progressive metal \ death metal \ progressive rock preceding my 34.

I can’t imagine getting my score if I listened to mainstream music, but I do not think there is a notable correlation between musical preference and score. I do find that intelligient people seem to gravitate toward more complex music, however.

I didn’t practice signifcantly beyond taking practice tests and tests in general to get a good idea of what I was up against. I found that most academic activities benefited my score and general mental application (logic).
