let’s say i got into suny plattsburgh and they’re giving me $10,000 for 4 years, which is $2500 a year. is this a lot?

IF you’re in-state, and that covers half tuition, then it’s a lot.

A scholarship is “a lot” based on the cost of the school. If a school’s cost is $55k per year (including room, board, etc), and you got a much bigger scholarship for $10k per year, then that would **NOT **be “a lot”.

Why do you ask?

“a lot” is a relative term. If you get $2500 per year but you cannot cover the remaining costs…then you might not view this as “a lot”.

If someone gets $500 a year but they can already cover the remaining costs…then the $500 would seem like a lot.

^^^

Also true…

Yes, “a lot” is a relative term.

A lot when speaking of scholarships is often best measured in the percentage it covers.
