How much should I spend on a laptop?

<p>I will be buying a laptop later on in the year for college. I enjoy PC gaming so the laptop cant be complete garbage, I also don’t want to break the bank. How much should I spend ?</p>

<p>I configured a Mac Pro with every option that I could as well as two 30" monitors. Totalt came out to around $24,000.</p>

<p>That’s because Apple ridiculously overprices their upgrades (well, the default configurations are overpriced too, but whatever).</p>

<p>I have a Dell Inspiron 1520. I don’t remember the exact configuration, but it was definitely more than the “minimum”. I love my computer. It cost about $1600ish. That much will get you a great laptop PC, but you can get a good one for less. </p>

<p>If you want a Mac, though, plan to add a few hundred to that number.</p>
