Trades and other jobs commonly require post-secondary education, even if it is not that which leads to a bachelor’s or associates degree.
However, the opportunity to launch into a good career of one’s choice is heavily dependent on one’s parents’ good planning. I.e. much opportunity is inherited, and that may be becoming more true as time goes on. Obviously, there is no guarantee, and one must take one’s own action to make use of the available opportunity, but that is still a big inherited advantage over those who have fewer opportunities due to poor choices or bad luck by their parents.
