How much time does being in a club require?

I know being involved in various clubs and organizations around campus is intrinsic to creating a network around college, but just how much time and effort does it require? Is it possible to be involved in two clubs simultaneously?

Here is the link to the clubs at UMD. And yes, I know it varies based on several variables, but can someone give a general time frame?

It would help to give some that you might be interested in. They really vary from some that may meet only once or twice a month to some that take a multiple-hour commitment per week.

Your best bet is to spend quite a bit of time at First Look Fair on 9/15 and 9/16 this year on McKeldin Mall. You can talk with people who are active in the club and find out what they do, and see if it's something you'd be interested in. The time commitment required per club/activity is something you have to consider before you get involved.

The ones I was looking at were the Computer Security club and the Intelligence Community club. I'm only a rising senior in high school, so I'm not looking to join them yet, I just wanted to see if it was possible to juggle two clubs at once.

I don't know anything about either of these two, but my guess is that it would be no problem. It would be when you'd get into student government, involvement in your dorm, music and/or other performing groups and some of the community service clubs that would take a lot of your time.
