Hi

I sent in my ED application and supplement to one university, then an EA application to another university.

The issue I am having is that I (very stupidly) forgot about the word limit for the EA application on the personal narrative.

The first ED application university requested a maximum of 2 pages for the personal narrative, mine JUST fit onto 2 full pages. It turned out to be 707 words. That part is OK

However, while submitting the same common application to the second university, I forgot that they asked for a MAXIMUM of 500 words… I feel incredibly stupid and upset at how I might have just screwed myself out of a pretty good application.

The essay itself was very well written, very personal, very powerful and goes by quickly… does anyone know if the adcoms will simply throw out my application or essay when they see it? (the second university)

AHH I feel so stupid… they’re going to think “oh, he can’t follow directions”

Should I call the second university and say that I attached the wrong draft and ask if I can send in a smaller essay (one that is 500 words… I’d have to butcher the one I have now), or should I just wait for the application decisions?

As always… thanks for any help
