I am applying as a Psych/Pre-Psych major and stating on applications where there is space (and mentioning in personal statements) that my goal career is to be a Police Officer. I am participating in an unpaid internship with my local police department, the internship is also part of a greater national program. I know it’s a stupid question but is this going to be given any weight or give me something above others as my career choice and internship heavily coincide. I will even be going to a 3 week police academy this upcoming July that is certified for college credit and such. Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.</p>

<p>I think it will matter. It’s like an EC that shows depth in your field of interest. Write about it in your essay.</p>
<p>I don’t know for UC’s but in general, colleges love to see that you are involved.</p>
