My English teacher was angry that I was going to give him 10 recs to write, so I gave him 5 instead and another 5 to a second science teacher.

For Stanford, Caltech, Duke, Dartmouth, and Princeton, how much will 2 science recs hurt?

Caltech is quite specific - they want a humanities rec. I am not sure about the others. Check their website. Why would your english teacher mind? it just means hitting the xerox button 5 more times (or entering the number 10) and stuffing 5 more envelopes.

yeah, he only has to write one recommendation letter for you and hit the button. the worst thing is having 5 schools that don’t accept the CA or UC, but even that can’t be bad - teacher rec forms are short.

well, some schools (especially private schools that don’t use the common application… and probably the University of Chicago!) ask specific questions for teacher recommendations.

Anyone else with some info?
