How much will 7th semester grades help

So I was deferred with the “good” deferral level…7th semester I got straight A’s (4.27 GPA), how much will this help me get accepted? I’m also going to email my regional admin lady, what should I say apart from an update of some activities?

A 4.0 will definitely help. I don’t think emailing the admissions lady will help at all.

^ 4.27, but I thought that an updated resume (got involved with a rather large project) would be beneficial

No such thing as a 4.27…
If you get straight As, you get a 4.0 in my eyes lol.

resume? dont think i’d send that in. I think a simple letter would be much more beneficial.

You will very likely get in. Just send the grades.

JK, how about a cover letter that is short and sweet and covers ALL of the following:

 1. Continues to by my #1 choice
 2. Wanted to let you know that I had a rigorous but productive semester with 4.27, official grades to follow, rest assured I am ready for the challenge of U M
 3. Also headed up the xxx project, enormously satisfying, hopeful of chance to make a similar contribution at U M.

It’s just a thought; I am a parent, not an adcom. But the marks together with the project and the expression of interest would likely be enough for me ; )

Alright, so it’s alright to say that UM is still one of my number one choices? And say that I’ll be ready for the challenge? It seems a little bit idk odd to say it so straight up

A 4.0 ( A’s in all courses) is the best 7th semester grades you can get, if you get rejected I doubt it will be the reasons of your grades, if accepted 7th semester grades was likely a huge factor.

I’m not sure whether they will care if its your top choice but in their essay tips web page they mention: tell us why we are great, so maybe sending in the letter can potentially help and if they are annoyed by such a letter they simply would more than likely just not read it.

^ Sounds great, thank you!

JK, of course they care about how committed you are and what kind of fit you are. Someday you would be one of those alumni donors they benefit from ; ) Besides, if 29,000 other people want in, why would they want someone who was lukewarm about the choice? They have lots of 4.0s to choose from. Set yourself apart.
Straight up is the best way to say just about everything important in life, btw. But don’t say it if you don’t mean it.

Yeah, do as well as you can this semester, and if you feel you must, talk to your admissions lady. Don’t bug them, but maybe send an email.

If anyone could help me with a few things in the email it would be greatly appreciated, let me know and I’ll PM it
