How much will a bad grade in one GE (nonscience) hurt you?

So I took my International Relations (lower division) midterm today and failed miserably. I read the essay prompt wrong (by one word - "early POST Cold War era, rather than early Cold War era) only to realize it in the last 5 minutes! Ive asked the TAs and professor what I can do to make it up, but I don’t think they’ll help much.

So I’m guessing I can’t get an A anymore even if I ace everything else, definately could get a C and hopefully a B - B+? if I really pull things together. How much will this hurt me though as a competitive premed student?

I’m so disheartened. It was a dang good essay too. Coherent, solid, and some of my best forced writing and syntax.

1.) It’s less impt than a BCPM hit, but not an awful lot less.

2.) One course as an exception to a strong track record isn’t going to derail everything. Just stay on target and you’ll be fine. Obviously it would be better to ace things, but you’re allowed a mistake over your four years of undergraduate work.

Damn. I got a C in Algebra last year AND a C- in Eco. This was before I changed from finance to biology.
