So I broke the world record yesterday with 4.59 seconds. Just curious, because my gpa (4.27 W) and ECs are not very stellar, so I’m wondering how much it will help?
It is a fun fact but I don’t think it will get you into a college that you are not otherwise fully qualified to attend.
A minor EC, no help.
Were you being officially timed/filmed or are you in the genius book of world records? If so, then yes. If not, then it means nothing.
It depends on the college. The smaller the college the more significant but all colleges like to tell fun facts about the most recent class they admitted–JHU comes to mind when they reported in their most recent batch a girl who taught an octopus how to paint. It falls in that category: fun facts to know and tell. Good Luck! You could turn it into an interesting essay if there is more to the story. My niece used to collect rubiks from her classmates. At any one time she’d have 8 in her bag from friends who were stumped, and she’d right them and give them back.
If you were officially in the book and recognized for it, then heck yeah! I think that’s something really memorable and quirky, definitely will set you apart from those with basic ec’s. I wouldn’t rely on it for your main ec, but definitely something cool that AO’s will remember
I’m not sure I would post this here, you will not be anonymous.
It shows you are “the type” for tech schools. But probably nothing more.
