I’m a freshman now and I am taking all honors classes, and my first semester I had mostly Bs and a few As. It is now second semester and my grades are a lot lower, more like Cs and a couple Bs and Ds. I do not do any extracurriculars. Next year I plan to get all As and a couple Bs, and join extracurriculars as well as volunteering at my local library. If I keep that up through junior year, will I still be able to get into colleges that aren’t state schools?
There’s nothing wrong with state schools, thousands upon thousands of brilliant and successful people are currently attending them or are former graduates. Come back when you’re a junior and you have a GPA, class rank, SAT/ACT scores, etc. Without those statistics and your desired colleges no one can tell you a thing. Work hard and try your best, that’s simply all you can do.
Try to salvage your grades for the remainder of the year as much as possible. Try as hard as possible to avoid getting/finishing any of your classes with Cs. Freshmen year is important, even though many don’t make it out to be.
Just keep working hard and getting your grades up.
