How much will GPA hurt me?

Low GPA (3.75) applying to Stanford (regular), but I have a strong upward trend.

I have great leadership, scores, essays, recs.

Does the GPA still make me a weak applicant?

The only strong applicant is a big money endowment, legacy who’s grandfather is a tenured professor.

They will recalculate your GPA ignoring freshman year (if that helps – it certainly did for me!)

If you are applying regular, try to get good grades 1st semester as they will look at that.

Besides, there are other parts of your application that are more important than GPA. I got in unhooked with a 3.8, so I don’t think your GPA will keep you out.

Best of luck to you!
