how much will I still have to pay?

I received two scholarships totalling $4000 that are renewable each year and a little over $5000 in grants. Annual tuition at the school I’ll be attending is a little over $9000 I am planning on living at home, I will be getting free bus rides through a program at school, and I believe someone will be paying for the cost of my books. Are there any other expenses I should be planning for, or am I pretty much covered? Also, about the grants; if my financial situation is pretty much the same next year when I apply for aid as it was this year, will I receive pretty much the same financial aid package (around $5000 in grants, and about $8000 in loans I won’t be using)?

I think grants from year to year vary from school to school. Ask your school how likely it is that you will get those same $$ in grants next year. Also remember that school costs likely increase each year.

Certain classes may have fees. You should definitely plan on having some $$ room to wiggle with for unexpected expenses. It’s impossible to guess from year to year and school to school.

Depends on the type of grant. If it is federal money like PELL then it would stay about the same if your financial situation stays the same.
