How much will studying help?

I scored a 2110 (680 CR, 700 M, 730 W) my first time taking the SAT without studying. Is it worth it to try again if I want to get into one of the ivies or Stanford?

Note: I got a 35 on the ACT w/Writing. I also qualified for national merit for the PSAT.

It wouldn’t look better to be really strong in both?

Your ACT score is very strong. You probably don’t even need the SAT.
You already did amazingly on one test, I think you should focus your efforts to do well on something else (APs, SAT subject tests)

Is there any way to combine the two and avoid SAT II’s? I’ve already taken two of them, but they’re just a pain.

If a school requires SAT II’s, then you will have to take them.

I’d say retake the SAT. For really competitive schools (Ivy League, etc) many students take both the ACT and SAT for whatever the school prefers. Plus, it’s just another test score to flaunt. If you’re not applying for those kind of schools, then simply the ACT will be fine.

Yeah. I’m applying to Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford. I probably should have as many strong scores as I can.

Any other advice? Do you all think that the CollegeBoard book would be best?
