How much would retaking the SAT II test benefit me?

Hello all,

So I took the SAT II tests a couple months ago and received a 710 on Math 2 and a 590 on Bio. As expected of any sane student, I’m going to retake the bio test. My question is, would it benefit me if I retake the Math 2 test as well to aim for a high 700 or should I just focus on the Bio test in the meanwhile.

On a side note, I am also going to be retaking my ACT in hopes for a 34 as well; would tacking on Math 2 be too much on my schedule, or is the math score good for a school such as UC Davis (in which I really aspire to go to)?

Thanks to all who give feedback.

SAT 2s are not required and adcoms may not see them but they also may help.

What is your UC GPA?

My UC GPA is currently 4.18 (weighted), 3.88 unweighted

I’d recommend just retaking both the SAT and ACT, not SAT 2s.

UC Davis does not require SAT 2 subject tests but does state if submitted that they can only help you, not hurt you.

@Happy2Help @Gumbymom would just retaking the ACT be fine? I know the various UCs and CSUs accept either.

Students in my area seem to take both as many times as they can. Sure, I think taking just the ACT is fine.
