How my Financial Aid Eligibility is Determined

Cost of Attendance: $20531
Outside Assistance: +$10130 —> parent’s contribution

Initial Need: $10401

Already Awarded: + $5500 —> already got this in grants.
Current Need: $4901 —> what is this? Are they going 2 give me more or do I have 2 come up with this myself?

*(this is for A&M, and no one has answered it yet, so I was just wondering if sum1 here can answer it)

State schools don’t necessarily award up to your need. Federal (and state) aid programs all have annual limits. Even if you are awarded the maximum of each type, you may still have unmet need because they have less institutional aid than private schools. You’ll probably be offered loans for the difference.

I don’t know for sure, but I think zlc hit the nail on the head.
