How normal is it to have a spiking GPA?

<p>My GPA has gone through a weird trend, it first went down due to lazyness then it spiked up when I actually started trying in school.</p>

<p>My question is will having a spiking GPA make my transcript look suspicious or is it quite common among people who went from lazy to hard workers and vice versa?</p>

<p>My GPA trend (weighted):
Freshman: 3.52
Sophmore: 3.33
Junior: 4.68
Senior: 4.89</p>

<p>It will look good. My GPA went from a 4.45 to a 4.9 to a 4.97, not a big jump, but it looks good all the same</p>

<p>It will look good, but at prestigious schools (HYPS) it won’t really matter because in all likelihood they will turn your app aside. Sorry to be a bummer.</p>
