I know that it’s different for each individual class, but generally speaking, how often do UCLA classes meet during a week?

It depends. Lower division math classes meet everyday for 1 hour (4 lecture + 1 discussion).

Language classes generally meet every day for 1 hour.

Social science classes in general meet twice a week for 1.5 hours a day.

Seminar classes meet once a week for 3 hours a day.

Labs also meet once a week for…a while…(I have no idea actually)

Actually, most lower div math classes I’ve had only meet 4 days a week (3 lectures and 1 discussion, all 1 hr each), which makes sense, because they’re usually 4 unit classes.

Labs depend, but for chemistry they’re usually 2 days a week (1 hr lecture, 3 hr labs). Physics and life science ones vary, I think.

Lower division classes from my experience:

1 class of history: twice a week lecture, each 1 hour and 15 minutes. Then a 2 hour long mandatory discussion section, anytime during the week.
3 classes of physics: three times a week lecture, each 50 minutes. An hour long of optional discussion section, and a 2 hour long lab 7 weeks out of the quarter (doesn’t meet first week, 10th week, and a random week in the middle)
5 classes of chemistry lecture (chem 20AB,30ABC): three times a week lecture, each 50 minutes. An hour long of sometimes optional, sometimes mandatory discussion section.
3 classes of life science (aka biology): twice a week, an hour and 15 minutes each. Then a 2 to 3 hour long discussion/lab section every week.

I’ve seen the same class meet three times a week for an hour or meet twice a week for an hour and 15 minutes. But what I listed is the general break down for regular south campus classes. The three days a week are Monday, Wednesday, Fridays while the twice a week are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Of course, I heard north campus classes can be Monday and Wednesdays for an hour and 15 minutes, which is why many north campus majors don’t have class on Fridays. Then the south campus professors take advantage of that by scheduling their midterms on Fridays and booking two rooms, one in south campus and one in north campus.

Chemistry lab: an hour long lecture once a week, then lab section meets either once or twice a week, each for 3 hours.

I’m taking chem 30AL this quarter, which is an hour long lecture and two 3 hour lab sections. ■■■…

Almost every math class has lecture MWF and discussion T or R. The exceptions are 115A (discussion is both T and R), the 172 series (2 extended lectures per week), and the math for teaching classes.

I should clarify my previous post:

When I said “X” class of history/chemistry/physics, the “X” number indicates how many classes of that type I have taken thus far.

Oh, and Gotlactose, it sounds like you took the Physics 6 series (correct me if I’m wrong), which has a lab component, whereas the Physics 1 series doesn’t. Physics 1 does have an extra hour of lecture each week though.
