How often do Wordiness errors come up in identifying sentence errors

<p>For example:</p>

Off of the clip (Should be off the clip)
biography of the life of frederick douglass (of the life is redundant)</p>

<p>they are all wordiness errors. how often do these type of errors come up on the SAT’s identifying sentence errors section? because I suck at these.</p>

<p>at least half of the questions I would say,</p>

<p>I do not think they appear that often, and they are rarely the main error. They are usually paired with an major error in Subject Verb Agreement, Parallel Structure, Pronoun Choice, etc. </p>

<p>Some people may mistake other errors as wordiness because they create extra words. For example, consider the following:</p>

<p>“he washes the car, mows the lawn, and then he will clean the garage”</p>

<p>This is a Parallel Structure error (it should be “and then cleans the garage”), but it has extra words, so some students may mistakenly call it a wordiness error.</p>

<p>When in doubt, though, select the most concise answer choice.</p>
