We don’t eat out much, and we live in an area that is dense with restaurants of every type. My husband eats lunch out once a week, and brings lunch four days a week. I bring my lunch to work every day. We eat out together about once a month, and bring something home because we are in a time crunch about twice a month.

Even on vacation we don’t eat out much, because we stay in a condo timeshare with a full kitchen. We usually eat breakfast in, then have lunch or dinner out and the other meal “at home.” I think because we have easy access to so many restaurants back home that we are not really motivated to eat out on vacation; its easier to stock up on groceries at the condo and have dinner on the balcony.

I suspect that on a year-round average our spending on meals out is a lot lower than most people in the U.S.

We eat out a lot and easily spend an amount equal or greater to oldfort on an annual basis. I’d say we go out twice a week and order in twice a week (all dinner). Then we go out somewhere nice at least once a month, which means a meal that runs about $250 for the two of us (and we don’t drink alcohol). We live in the D.C. area with many wonderful but expensive restaurants. At least we save money on lunch. We own our own business and neither of us eats lunch. I cooked a bit more when I had more kids at home. I only have one kid left at home out of four.

I eat out about 4 times a month. Two breakfast meals, one lunch and one dinner on average. My dh eats out about 12 times a week. As you can, see most of his meals are not with me.

There is one place that I love to eat out at but by the time you get two dinners, an appetizer, and a martini and a beer or two your bill is at eighty bucks and didn’t even leave a tip yet. Such good food though… I usually only go there on birthdays.

We eat out many times/week for BL and/or D, especially now that the kids are away and it’s just H and me. Most meals are $5-10/person. Eat more expensive ones perhaps once or more/month and when we travel. No mortgage, electric bill about$17/month and finished last tuition. Also medical insurance premiums areostly paid by employer. We earn more than we spend.

takeout 1-2 x week for dinner( Chinese, Italian), eat out local mid range restaurants 1-2 x week for dinner, breakfast 2-3 x month, rarely go out for lunch will occ do drive thru while working. This week was busy I went out 3nts in row with different friends, hubby stays home.
