<p>DD is a college freshman halfway across the country. I get a five to seven minute call maybe once a week because she wants to vent about any number of things as she walks across campus. I used to get weekly very short calls when she was doing her laundry. Maybe she’s not doing her laundry as often when I told her that no, lightening probably wouldn’t strike her if she failed to wash her sheets on a weekly basis. I probably get texts from her every few days. I don’t generally initiate contact unless I need to know something like when she will through with exams so I can make airline reservations. Oh, and she may call me every few weeks wanting to brainstorm with me about an assignment. Those calls may last ten to fifteen minutes. We’ve only Skypped twice.</p>
