How often do you use your town's/city's public transit (if one exists)?

I’m grateful that suburban Chicago even has its own bus system, but it’s nothing compared to the city’s.

Alas, my driver’s permit has expired, and I haven’t practised with a car since…hmmm, two years ago? I also can’t ride a bicycle. So I don’t have much of a choice.

A lot. Today was Spare the Air day and everyone got to ride the buses/ferries/subway for free.

I never used the city’s buses, because they’re not very reliable and I never knew the schedule for them. I just relied on friends with cars to take me round to anywhere I couldn’t walk. I use my college’s buses all the time though, especially when it’s really hot (to keep from walking to class and dying of heat exhaustion on the way).

Whenever my car is in the shop, because I travel alot.

Everyday. There’s no other(financially reasonable)way for me to get into the city. It takes an hour each way.

NYC Subway System…I love and hate it at the same time.

What’s a public transit?

Public transportation

City buses, trains and in some places the ferry,

I use the Balto -DC MARC train alot because the drive is too far…and I always use the subway in Washington

^ I was joking. I’ve lived in New York City most of my life.

Here in Lexington - public transportation means the carriage tours tourists take around town. The nearest mass transit system is over an hour’s drive away.

everyday here in NYC

We don’t have any form of public transit in my hometown

at school i use it everyday. when i am at home with family, i dont use it because we don’t have it.

Right now? Never. In college? Probably a lot, as I’m leaving my car at home.

We have a really crappy system. It’s designed for old people.

I’ve never used it.

At school we have two options: take the bus (free for undergrads) or buy a parking permit & try to find a parking spot.

The town bus system is designed & operated by the university (students are bus drivers). The different routes hit all the major apartment complexes and campus and are timed so that you’ll get to class on time & be able to catch the bus after class gets out. So, I used the buses every school day for the past 3 years.

students are bus drivers

hmmm…that might make me think twice about hopping on a bus! ;)

live in nyc so i use it plenty. at school public transit basically doesn’t exist…

i went to san antonio for a weekend about 6 years ago and used the bus a couple of times while i was down there. that is the only time i have ever used public transportation.
