How often should you provide updates to your committed school’s coach?

Once an athlete has committed to School A and told the other school’s coaches they will be attending another school, how often should the athlete keep the coach from School A updated?

Would love to hear about what athletes did during a normal year. Of course, they would have results from meets/games to update in a normal year. But this year, I was planning to update them about how I was able to practice, or attend meets, etc, and wanted to know what the ‘normal’ frequency may be.

I’m a rising senior and have one more year until my first year at university.

Thanks for the help!

I’d keep it pretty minimal. Let the coach know when your application is submitted and when you’re admitted. You can add a sentence to each of those re:training. Aside from that, perhaps an end of season summary as well as specific questions you might have. Give the coach a chance to initiate some conversations if he or she is inclined.

Thank you for the advice. I think I’ll keep it relatively minimal and next time would be on admissions updates.

I think D’s contacts were pretty minimal. There were some contacts in Nov around signing day, and there were some texts during the season (spring), but not much else. It was a new team so they were texting each other about setting up roommates (which got all screwed up). In the summer the coach sent the work out plan for the summer.
