How on earth do you answer this SAT essay question?

Is anger a manifestation of a person’s insecurity?

Like what examples could you use? I’m at a loss.

And also, if you want to argue NO, would you say “Anger is not a manifestation of a person’s insecurity, anger is a manifestation of a person’s ________?” and then support that instead? Or what?

Uh, is that a real CB prompt?

To answer this, pick a side (based on your own reasoning).

In the inchoate stage of your essay make some small points (scenarios or real events) turn the scenarios into fabricated events or use the real events if you have any.

When giving each example (event) keep in mind it must support your thesis.

Your thesis isn’t just your position it’s also the reasoning behind it.

Use good transitions from one example to another.

Reiterate your thesis, delineate the key points (the points which support your thesis) of your examples, give a closing sentence (reiteration of thesis in context of examples).

So let’s say you choose yes, and your mental reasoning concludes that the answer is yes because people get angry when they are so overwhelmed by a sense of helplessness, which is concomitant to low self esteem, that they loose control of their emotions and anger sets in.

You could use this thesis

“We must defeat ourselves before we can face any other enemy”, this statement made by Platos, the great greek philosopher that founded stoicism (he didn’t I just lied), tells us about the importance of conquering are emotions, the doubts we have about ourselves can easily lead to fear which can, through fustration and anxiety turn into anger, examples throughout history and in literary works show that when people are engulfed bu their insecurities they turn to anger.
