So at one point during my years at UCLA, one night my friends and I snuck into Pauley Pavilion (don’t ask me how) and we were able to play a game of basketball there for a couple of hours. It was definitely one of those “OMGGGG I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING” moments in my college life.

But the other day a friend told me that sometimes IM tournaments are hosted in Pauley? o.O Is this true?

If so, it totally takes away the splendor from my magical evening :p

Yes. It is true that IM tournaments are regularly scheduled in Pauley, as well as many other intramural events. When Pauley renovation is done, take a peak at what’s going on inside Pauley when you walk by. I’ve also played basketball in Pauley (for a departmental scheduled event), and it is one of the best memory for my college career.

Yeah, IMs is a regular thing for Pauley (or was until renovations). I’ve been fortunate enough to work on center court with the stands out, scoreboard out and Dennis on the microphone. That really gives an amazing atmosphere for the IM finals, and a really unique experience for your college tenure.

One gate was always open at the old Pauley. My friend is a manager of the men’s bball team and he took me inside of the men’s locker room and equipment room.

Nah, someone else. The locker room was definitely small. The entrance to the showers was no bigger than a restroom stall. Imagine having your locker next to Josh Smith’s.
