How reliable is Princetonreview.com?

Is PrincetonReview.com's Counselor O Matic fairly reliable at predicting one's chances at colleges?

There are some very good schools on my Good Match list and I don't want to get my hopes up if this is known to be unreliable.

It can be on the dot sometimes; for others, it can be way out of sync.

it's so hard for me to tell though, because I have a pretty low GPA (3.3) but really good SATs (both over 700) it's telling me Bates, Colby , and Bowdoin are good matches for me. I was really involved at the private boarding school I was at and had good EC's, but now I'm homeschooled with no sports because of knee surgery and no clue where I'm going to school next year...this is all so complicated!

I think its chances predictions are off by quite a bit, but as far as I've seen with myself and friends, it tends to be more pessimistic about your chances (my reach was Pomona, and I got into schools more selective than that), so take heart from it if you like : ).

However, I think it is pretty reliable for finding schools which you would fit in at, given all the factors it asks you to consider. Why don't you check out the schools it gives you and see what you like about them -- could help you identify what you're looking for in a college at the very least.

It is incredibly pessimistic about your schools.

their party school ranking are WAY off. look at playboys they hit it on the nail.
