Sooo not really a chance me thread but similar…

I’m international and just got accepted to a really good boarding school(prep-school) with a full scholarship for both my years there and to go to college(as long as it’s in the scholarship program, includes all Ivy-Leagues, Stanford, MIT, etc.)

At my current(soon to be former) school I didn’t have that many extracurriculars, clubs or community service hours because it just wasn’t readily available.

At my new school I plan to be as involved as I can, there is so much offered and I plan to take advantage of that. But how will the colleges I apply to in a few years see my record in my home country? Will they understand that I didn’t have as many opportunities there?

All comments and thoughts appreciated :)

provided you have an impressive string of EC activities at this new school WHILE keeping your grades as high as possible, getting into college should not be a challenge. As a matter of fact, most colleges place their heaviest focus on the EC activities done in the latter years of high school. So don’t wry too much
It’s funny because I actually have the opposite problem…as in my first few years of High school I was involved in literally everything and I just kind of faded away towards the end
anyway, having said that, the new school sounds REALLY amazing where is it?

Good luck :)

Thanks
It’s in upstate NY, prefer not say exactly where

I’m sure they’ll understand. Colleges generally look at whether or not you have done the best with what you have, so I don’t think going to a school with fewer opportunities than your new school will really hurt your chances.

Chance me?
