How screwed am I, admissions process-wise?

If I don’t fulfill the VPA requirement for the UC schools, can I still apply? Or will they not even look at my application?

It’s unlikely that you’ll be considered. As an alternative, you can see if you can take an equivalent course at a community college during this school year and see if the UC system will accept that.

Honestly, call the admissions office. But if you were to ask me, I’d say they wouldn’t consider your application. As in you won’t get a rejection or acceptance, but more of an “Invalid application, please try again.”

I’ve heard that UCs are somewhat lenient about vpa, but that’s all just hearsay so I’m not sure.

I do know that I have a friend who applied to a CSU, got accepted, went through orientation, signed up for classes, and then the school did an application audit and found that she did not fulfill vpa and dropped her from the school. Obv CSU is different from UC, but I’d still be careful.

it still counts if u take it senior year. if its too late to add a class to your senior schedule, then just take it at a community college. if the deadline has just passed, then talk to your counselor and try to see if there’s an alternative, since this seems to be an academic emergency. i would also call the admissions office just to be on the safe side.

It’s whatever, I’m just going to drop UCLA and Cal. They don’t have an undergrad business program anyway, I just wanted more options in Cali other than SC.

Cal does have undergrad business at Hass business school. You just apply for admission to the major later on.
