<p>Being able to speak multiple languages is a plus, should enhance your application.</p>
<p>I seriously doubt that you will dislike China, unless you can’t stand the pollution. UMD offered a three week study abroad course in China during this past summer to the incoming freshmen. If they offer again, it would be a great opportunity to experience the country before you commit a semester or a year.</p>
