How serious my ACT score?

Hi! I’m a student from Korea(aka international student)
and I’m currently in 10th grade in Korea, but I would probably be a rising senior(11th grade) if I was studying at the states.

In school we took a model ACT test last week.
I never done any preparation on ACT nor SAT(while my friends are…)
I was planning to start SAT this semester.
Thus, I actually have no idea where exactly I am, although I finally got the score yesterday.

My ACT score is English 23/Math 32/Reading 25/Science 20 and the average was 25.

I at least want a score more than 2300 in SAT next year, and I would try everything I can.
Please give me some advice on how serious is my ACT score and what could I do to improve my score, especially on Reading, since I think I would probably take SAT instead of ACT

Thanks.

Based on your ACT scores, it seems like you did pretty well on math and might do better on the SAT, which is more based on logic and reasoning.

If you want to improve your scores, do plenty of practice! Try to get some ACT practice tests or at least look up some practice problems and work on those. If you want to improve your Reading score, I would say that reading more is your best bet. Start trying to read more books, newspapers, etc. to get a good idea of what proper grammar looks like. Try to focus on the main ideas of the story and don’t just read to read. Read to comprehend.

Hope that helps a little!

A student in 11th grade is a junior, and a student in 12th grade is a senior. A student is called a “rising senior” during the summer between 11th and 12th grade.

A composite ACT score of 25 is the 79th percentile. If your SAT practice tests are above 2300 (the 99th percentile), then you should stop studying for the ACT and only take the SAT.
