This is the essay I’m currently working on. Does a personal statement have to be a narrative of a story? My English teacher and guidance counselor have been emphasizing that I should narrate so as to “show” rather than “tell” which I understand and think is a generally good idea. However, that method doesn’t seem practical for a 200 word statement. I have another essay (2-3 pages) on a similar topic, but I could not possibly keep the story element of it and cut it down to 200 words. How should I address this essay?
