How should I answer CR questions?

When I approach a passage question, the first thing I try to do is eliminate choices, and this is really all I do. Sometimes I can cross out the right answer by looking at it like this. Should I be looking for the right answer immediately? When I cross out answer choices, it definitely takes up time to go through each one in detail in a way(look back at passage for EACH answer choice). Do you guys look for the right answer or eliminate first?

Predict the answer first before looking at the choices. Then go through the choices and look for the one that best matches your prediction. This way, none of the wrong answer choices will influence the way you pick the right one, since a lot of the wrong choices are usually pretty tempting to begin with.

It feels good to get those extremely wrong answers out of the way though, the ones you know that they’re trying to trick you with. I’ve taken at least 15 practice tests and have a good idea of the trick answers which I usually try to get rid of. Originally I was using the strategy of predict and then cross out, but I think I should definitely try the predict and look instead of cross out because I get a little more nervous when I cross out.

Now that I think about it, when I’m crossing out, I don’t think fully about each choice, as in I’m kind of in a hurry to cross out, sometimes crossing out all 5 choices lol. I’ll change the way I’ve been taking these tests though this weekend and see what it does.

I usually read the question, think of my own answer to the question, and see which one of the answers matches mine. If I find an answer that doesn’t match or that I know is definitely wrong, I eliminate it. Eliminating helps, especially when time is an issue.

So I guess it’s a combination of both crossing out and looking for the right answer.

answer them correctly, it yields the highest score.
