I’m not sure how to feel about my January SAT score. I’m ambivalent. I scored a 690 CR which is 100 points higher than my PSAT. The Essential 300 Words plus Barron’s High Frequency Words really helped. My M score came in at a 560 which is below what I thought. I really need a good math book. And finally, my W was a 640 with a disappointing 9 on the essay. My friends think that an 1890 is a great score and I should be happy and head to the mall. But now I know from CC that much higher scores are possible. BTW is it just me or are there a number of CCers who are disappointed with their Jan scores?

People generally feel disappointed if they felt that they underperformed. Carelessness is also a motivator for disappointment. People with 2350s even get disappointed because of their attitude towards themselves.

It’s generally why people retake them. Take a look at yourself and see if an 1890 is something that you’d be HAPPY about. If it is, leave it.
