How Should I Interpret This?

Hi guys!

I’m currently a sophomore attending Missouri Southern State University and I’m hoping to transfer in the fall. The University of Richmond is my first choice and I submitted my application a little over a month ago.

A few hours ago, I received an email from Richmond’s transfer credit analyst asking for a course syllabus. Don’t colleges usually wait until an applicant has been accepted before they start looking at credits?

My main reason for asking is I am also planning to apply to Connecticut College. However, I will find out that decision a month after I get my decision from Richmond.

If I have a good chance of being accepted Richmond, I want to save the 72 bucks I would spend applying to Connecticut. However, I don’t want to be rejected from Richmond and not have another option. Connecticut College’s application deadline is April 1st, while Richmond will release the decisions on April 15th.

I also don’t want to get my hopes up, so what does this email mean?

or it might mean they want to see if you have appropriate courses…if you have half of your courses that won’t transfer, they may want to know that before they accept you, for example.

@bopper I found out on Thursday that I was accepted to Mount Holyoke, but they won’t tell which credits will transfer until after I confirm my enrollment…

Mount Holyoke is going to cost $18,700 per year. Is the education I’ll receive worth the $22,000 in student loans I’ll have to take out?

I had Richmond do a preliminary transfer credit “analysis” about a month ago and all my credits will transfer. It’s my first choice and I hope I hear something soon.
