Hi everyone,

I am accepted by Rice University and will be attended Fall’14 MS program in Mechanical Engineering. It has been 3 years since I graduated from college and I guess I should take a look at something in order to be prepared for grad school. What should I do before the lessons started? I am planning to take a look at Matlab, because I don’t remember anything.

Matlab would be a good start. Schaum’s Outlines study guides are also extremely helpful–good way or reviewing/relearning/quickly learning a bunch of topics, like statics, dynamics, thermo, fluid mechanics, linear algebra, differential equations, etc. You can use them to brush up on whatever areas you feel you need to refresh.

Find out what placement examinations, if any, are required by your program and review that material
