Hi, so I will be taking the chem subject test in November and will try to self-study for it using Princeton Review. Would PR be good enough to get a 700+. Also, I took a chem honors class as a sophomore and just neglected to take the subject test then. So is it possible to get a good score using only PR? If not, then what books do u recommend?

If you want that perfect score or at least a very high score, Barron’s is your best bet. Good info, good questions, can be a bit extraneous and harder than the actual test, but overall, the best option to score really, really high. PR should be enough to get that 700+ with a strong foundation from Chem H.

get good in chem instead of sleeping in class all day lol

look at collegeboard’s practice questions for chemistry – it’s got the majority of what you’ll c on the actual test

Don’t procrastinate.

Lol jk, but seriously IMO you need like 3-4 months to study. I recommend Barrons, but try to get your hands on some official tests because Barrons is supposed to be harder than the real thing (although I’m still waiting to hear back from my June tests…I was averaging 750s on the Barrons). Know your polyatomic ions and oxidation numbers! The reason I say to start studying early is because there is no way you can learn so many atoms properties in one night.
