How to appeal an admissions decision

In one of the long threads, someone asked if UT had an appeals process. They do. I am posting the link here.

If you think they made a mistake in your admissions decision, I think you should try adding something new to your application and appealing; it looks like this will cause the admissions department to look at your application again.

Do you think saying that this is a mistake.
I needed a calculus credit for natural science I am in pre-calculus. So I knew auto rejection. I tried to change it online from that to undecided and do calculus over the summer, but it said that after decision for that admission cycle was over then they would change my major. So my decision was based off natural science even when I tried to change it.
