How to approach ACT English Rhetoric?

I started out at a fairly low ACT English score (18), but I have built my way up to a score of 30. The problem is that I am unable to get the McGraw ACT Rhetoric correct? Or maybe I do the practice tests late at night. Can anyone help me?

Haha thats your problem right there bud. McGraw Hill flat out sux. Their practice tests are easier than the actual act p tests for any subject. I suggest buying the red act prep book that has real act tests inside it and also buy the online act prep guide which includes more act tests

The McGraw Hill book is FINE. I promise  It is actually more difficult than the actual ACT English, my opinion. I recently got a tutor and i have found that you should read all the answer choices and fill them in–it’s fool proof! Also, alot of the English is logical, epsecially the rhetoric…so on rhetoric ?'s think about the passage as a whole or read a few sentences before and after the box. If you’re stuck between two, think about what the differences & go with the BEST answer. :)

For the Suppose the writer wrote this essay to blah blah. Does it succeed questions, make sure that your second half is logical and answers the question. Really, it’s all just logic.

Use Barron’s rule of thirds- divide the answer choices into three parts, and check that all parts are solidly supported. This works well for reading comp, too.
